DRONES AND LAGOS’ PUSH FOR A SMART CITY
The Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu said his administration has put a number of moves in place, he recently launched two aerial unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), commonly called drones which would help in digital mapping and accurate planning of the proposed smart city. The Commissioner for Science and Technology, Lagos State, Akeem Popoola Fahm, said the purchase of the two Tiguar S-410 UAVs marks the demonstration of seriousness by the state towards attaining a smart city status

BUHARI PLEDGES MORE FUNDING, EQUIPMENT FOR ARMED FORCES
President Muhammadu Buhari said Thursday that the federal government was committed to providing more funding and enhanced equipment for the Armed Forces and other security agencies to enable them tame the insecurity in the country. This is coming as the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, said government had so far procured 22 aircraft while 17 more were expected this year, 2020.
The commissioning of the Agusta 109 Power and MI-171E helicopter gunships into the service will add impetus to the combat efficiency of the Air Force in combating our contemporary security challenges. He thanked the governments of Italy, Russia and Serbia from where the aircraft were acquired, stating that Nigeria would continue to strengthen bilateral ties with them.

CAPACITY BUILDING AND MAINTAINANCE BY THE AIR FORCE (C-130H AND NAF 913 PDM TEAM)
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) recently recorded a historic feat by deploying its locally reactivated C-130H NAF aircraft and NAF 913 to support the ongoing operations against insurgency in the North-East and other parts of the country. This was done at the Aircraft Maintenance Depot at Ikeja, Lagos after an in country Periodic Depot Maintenance (PDM).

FINALLY, FG, SOUTH-WEST GOVS REACH COMPROMISE ON AMOTEKUN
There seems to be headway between the federal government and south-west governors in the regional security operation squabble. Both parties have agreed to draw up a legal framework for the security network code-named Amotekun. This is a security initiative inaugurated earlier this month to address insecurity challenges in the southwest region.
Amotekun structure also align with the community policing strategy of the federal government. This was reached in a meeting chaired by Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja.

AFTER AMOTEKUN, SOUTH-EAST GOVERNORS ESTABLISH REGIONAL SECURITY OUTFIT
Chairman of the South-East governors’ forum, David Umahi, said the region has formed its own security outfit to protect lives and properties of citizens in the area. Umahi, however, did not disclose the name of the outfit. Meanwhile, a Commissioner in Ebonyi state, Stanley Emegha, had accused the South-West governors of "copying" their strategy with the establishment of Amotekun.

가. UGWUANYI BOOSTS FIRE SERVICE WITH FIVE INNOSON FIGHTER TRUCKS
Enugu Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, two weeks ago advanced the public utility sector with five made-in-Nigeria mini firefighting trucks to enhance the services being rendered by the Fire Service in Enugu State. He increased the number of fire service stations, built and furnished five new ultra-modern stations across the three senatorial districts of the state in addition to increasing the hazard allowance for the personnel.
He promised to ensure that there is constant supply and availability of chemicals used for firefighting; recruited 52 fighters and 11 drivers, while ensuring that adequate training for capacity building is also given to the personnel.

나. INSECURITY: OKOWA DONATES 35 NISSAN VANS TO SECURITY AGENCIES
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, on Monday, February 24th,2020, donated the first batch of 35 Nissan vans to security agencies in the state. He stressed the need to strengthen community policing, commending the Inspector General of Police for being at the forefront in advocating for community policing as the best security mechanism to address crime across the country.
The Brigade Commander 63 Brigade Nigeria Army, Brig-Gen. Ibrahim Jallo, Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Inuwa Hafiz and the State Director of State Security Services, SSS Ademola Adebiyi, received the vehicles on behalf of the security agencies

The IGP of Algeria and President of AFRIPOL, H.E Khelifa Ounissi, H.E Dr. Tareka Sharif, Executive Director, AFRIPOL, Mr. Arrezki Hadj Said, Director of Judicial Police and Mr. Ali Ferragh, Director of Police Academy were present to discuss how Algeria and Nigeria can collaborate to fight insecurity especially terrorism in Nigeria and Africa at large.
The Nigeria Police Headquarters Abuja, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu said Algeria is one of the biggest countries in Africa, its police service has adequate resources and has vast experience in solving terrorism.
라. KEEPING TABS ON THE WAR AGAINST BOKO HARAM
Some of the highlights of his leadership were the handing over of freed captives to the IDP camp officials; troops clearing Anadawa, Koshebe, Azaya and surrounding villages of Boko Horam. Some Boko Haram terrorists were ambushed at Zida village where three AK 47 rifles were recovered.
On Wednesday, February 4 2020, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, launched Operation Rattlesnake 3 for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The launch was necessary following the successes recorded by Operation Rattlesnake 1 and 2, last year.
On February 19, the ATF destroyed an Islamic State of West Africa Province ISWAP hideout and neutralised some of its fighters at Bukar Meram on the fringes of the Lake Chad. This was achieved in air strikes conducted after intelligence reports had indicated an increase in activities in the settlement with the observation of more terrorist fighters operating in the area.

The Drugs Salvation Foundation(TDSF) recently facilitated a 3 day training on the above issues which through the NDLEA as part of the well-being of the Nigeria police and called on foreign organizations to carry out such assistance.

Vigilant operatives of the Nigeria Navy Ship (NNS Delta), Warri, within three weeks, have arrested 33 suspected oil thieves in different operations around Escravos offshore in Warri South-west Local Government area of Delta Sate.

With the current outbreak of COVID-19 which seems to be cancelling exhibitions meeting and link towards meeting with decision makers and stakeholders. It is necessary to write directly (both hard and soft copies) to all Nigerian security government and also the private ones which KOTRA Lagos is ready to invite.
If KODAS 2020 will hold, this still remains a big avenue to invite top state and federal officials as put in this report because various top federal and state level top personnel.
Private Korean companies should as well participate in Nigeria security exhibitions which is key as there has not been at all South Korean companies who has participated.
